19th March 2020
Well we are certainly living through an interesting and challenging time! I would like to start today by thanking you for all your support and words of encouragement, they are really appreciated. In assembly this morning I told the children three things:
Wash your hands
Enjoy being a child (let the adults do the worrying)
Do as much work as you can at home
It may be sometime before we are all back together again and I felt this was the most important advice I could give them.
As you are all aware the school and the nursery will be closed from Monday onwards. The only exceptions to this are for vulnerable children, children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and children whose parents are Key Workers.
We have already contacted many parents but we are now waiting for the government to publish their final list of who ‘Key Workers’ are. Once this has been published then please contact the school or nursery as soon as possible if you believe this applies to you. We will then be in contact with you before the school officially closes on Friday.
For the rest of you, we would urge you to encourage your children to keep up with the work that the children have been set. Their teachers will be setting more in two weeks’ time so please keep checking the website and look out for ParentMail emails. We will also try to keep the office open and you will be welcome to come in and ask for paper copies, providing you are well and not in self-isolation.
We will continue to stay in contact with you and please feel free to communicate with us at any time. The email for learning questions is firstname.lastname@example.org. For all other enquiries please use the normal channels.
I hope to see you all very soon. Please keep yourselves and your families safe.
