Day 20, the 1st of May, it’s Friday and the end of the fourth week of school being closed to most pupils.
I certainly never imagined that we would find ourselves in this position. As the time goes by, I know that there are children struggling, many are missing their friends; and parents are asking me if we have any updates about school reopening. We have no news regarding how and when schools will be able to reopen. Mr Talbot will update you as soon as he can. There is only speculation in the press at the moment, no definite plans. I know that there is a lot of work going on to prepare the next Home Learning grids and packs. We will let you know when pack 4 is ready.
There was lots of Fancy Dress Friday fun on PE with Joe this morning; King Arthur battling with two unruly dragons. I hardly even noticed I was working out!
My mind always turns to Cookies on a Friday – how has that attendance been this week?! This week’s cookie recipe is a bit different. It is Vegan, gluten free and doesn’t need eggs or flour. I was surprised by the main ingredient. I think I might give it a go later, I’ve never baked like this before.

May Bank Holiday update – The bank holiday next week has moved from Monday to Friday 8th May. This decision was made to allow the nation to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. This was decided long before Coronavirus made an appearance but after some calendars and diaries were printed. This has caused some confusion. I will explore some ideas around VE Day next week.
I will leave you with some words by Roald Dahl: “If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely”
Wishing everyone a good weekend, looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Stay safe, Emma
