Day 22 and its Tuesday. I’m pleased to see the sun shining. It’s good to be in school today but it’s just not the same without all of you!
Good news for those of you that have been looking forward to the next work packs being released. They are ready today in the school office. We are now on Pack 4 of home learning activities. You can collect them from the office during school hours. Remember that we can drop them off to you, if you let us know that you are unable to leave your home.
Don’t forget that the school will be closed on Friday for the bank holiday. The grids are also being uploaded to the school website, you can get to them from the red ‘Closure Updates’ button on the home page.
Today feels like a day for positive thinking, so I’m going to have a think about our school values:
Perseverance - The longer this goes on, the more I appreciate the strength and support of everyone from school. I keep hearing how so many of you are keeping your children indoors and following the lockdown rules. We so want to see each and every one of our children back here. It would be a danger to give up, we need to keep going.
Teamwork -The work packs and YouTube videos are keeping that vital connection between children and school. We are here to support you and your families through this difficult time. We can get through this together.
Respect – I feel utmost respect for all keyworkers who are taking that extra risk to keep us all well, safe and supplied. This especially includes staff here at school and parents who are keyworkers, as well as the services that there for us when we need them.
Tolerance – We are all having to dig deep to deal with the changes in our lives. People are being asked to take on things that they are not normally expected to cope with; home schooling for one! It is taking a lot of resilience to get through the day sometimes, and it is easier if we can find some inner acceptance and tolerance towards what is being asked of us.
Honesty – This feels like a time when we need to be really honest with ourselves. Only we know if we are doing the best that we can to get our families through this pandemic. If we need help, we must ask for it. If we could make changes to what we are doing, then let’s try to do that, one step at a time.
I feel sure that everyone is putting these values into practice every day. We all deserve a handful of tokens for our Castles!
Please take care, Emma
