Day 28 – Its Thursday and time for us to show our appreciation again tonight for the NHS and Keyworkers.
It may by through gritted teeth for the people continually digging up my road from 7.30am this morning! Seriously though, the people who continue to take risks to do their essential work at this time are owed a huge debt of gratitude. They have allowed us to do our bit and stay in and keep safe.
If you are struggling with a build-up of rubbish that is unsafe you may be pleased to hear that Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) will open from Friday 15 May for essential use. Journeys to HWRCs can only be made if your waste or recycling cannot be stored at home safely or disposed of safely by other means. This means waste that cannot be stored without causing risk of injury, health or harm. To be able to visit a HWRC you must book a slot in advance. Please note that booking slots are very limited to allow social distancing for staff and visitors. You can book a slot either online at www.kent.gov.uk/hwrcbook or by phone on 03000 417373. The demand has already been huge, so it won’t be easy to book a slot.
Ms Page has told me about a great website for young artists to explore and enjoy. Take a look at:
There are some great ideas for practical activities, electronic games and quizzes and lots of information about different artists, for those who are interested. I could easily spend the rest of the day exploring this one!
Not sure what to cook for lunch every day? Join Jack from the Jamie Oliver Cookery School live on YouTube at 12pm every day #CookWithJack. You can make simple healthy lunches from their £15 weekly shopping list
I know lots of you have questions about how the school will reopen. Mr Talbot will be contacting you soon with details and plans that have been worked on this week.
Take care, Emma
