Day 30 – The start of the last week of term.
The weather forecast for the week is looking lovely and we can spend a bit more time outdoors, as along as we keep 2 metres apart from others. As I mentioned last week, today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme for 2020 is Kindness. Try and pay someone a compliment today, it could make a massive difference to someone’s day, especially if the compliment comes from a stranger.
Action For Children have identified these Five tips for family wellbeing while staying at home. You can find more details on this link
There are also links from here to lots of practical tips and ideas. You can also access free and confidential live chat with their parenting coaches about anything
Eat well and stay hydrated
Keep in touch with others
Get some fresh air
Be kind to yourself
Why not try to fit in something from this list every day this week and see if you feel any better by the end of the week?
Another great website for a wide range of activities to do at home is the Girl Guiding association
You don’t have to be a member to try out the activities, and you don’t have to be a girl to enjoy them! There is a stay at home festival to get involved in next weekend, 23rd May. I would particularly recommend that you take a look at the activities to support young people’s mental health and resilience. There are some ideas specific to worries around coronavirus.
I hope you are all staying alert and keeping well and safe.
Take care, Emma
