FLO Flyer September 2020
Welcome back to everyone who has been in so far this week. It is so lovely to be back in a busy, noisy school. There is a real buzz around the building. Today is the first day of term and we look forward to everyone being back with us now.
I know that this has been hard for parents and carers, especially those who have had to shield for health reasons or whose children could not be accommodated last term, and have not been with us since March.
A great deal of time and thought has gone into the risk assessments needed to keep everybody safe. This morning was extremely busy and we know that some of you didn’t feel comfortable. The first couple of mornings are always extra busy because so many of us want to see the children start the new year. Please remember that the gate is open between 8.35am and 8.50am, so you may prefer to bring your child a little later tomorrow. There is no need to arrive in the school car park before 8.35am please. Once your child has gone up the slope, please do not stay on the school site as we need to clear the gateways and paths as quickly as we can. Please be reassured that there are staff all throughout the school to support the children to wash their hands and get to their classrooms. No child will be left wandering about lost. Please bear with us for the next few days as we assess whether we need to review arrangements or whether this was a first day rush.
It has been lovely to start to welcome some of our new reception children today. We look forward to all of our new children and their parents/carers, as well as several new members of staff, becoming part of the Castle Hill Family.
Thank you to everyone who has donated school uniform that no longer fits your children. We are grateful to receive donations of washed school uniform that has been outgrown but is still in good condition. This is available for sale from the FLOs, for a small cost, as our ‘Go Again Uniform’. We cannot have sales in the playground at the moment, so just let us know what you need and in what size; we’ll see what we can find.
Good Bye – This is my opportunity to let you all know that I will be moving on from Castle Hill School shortly. Friday 11th September will be my last day here. I am going to miss working in this fantastic school, with such a great community of people. It has been a pleasure to be a part of your and your children’s lives. I have decided to go back to full-time study and retrain.
Sharon will continue to support you as FLO and hopefully it won’t be too long before my replacement starts.
Please get in touch if you have any questions or worries as your children settle back into school. There has been so much information to keep on top of, don’t be afraid to ask. We are here to help and support.
Take care, Emma (07889 349144) and Sharon (07889 349146)
