FLO Newsletter 3 - 2 February 2021
Every situation in life is temporary. So when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully and when life is not good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way!
This week in the news, there have finally been some positive stories to focus on. Vaccines seem to be on target and the news that just under 600,000 people received their vaccine on Saturday alone is hopeful. Infection rates now seem to be falling across the country as a whole and importantly for us, locally too.
January has seemed like a very long month so it felt like a relief this morning to tear that page off the calendar and welcome February; a step closer to Spring and hopefully some warmer weather.
Personally, I found the first Lockdown much easier because we were able to sit in our gardens enjoying the sunshine. It is so much harder keeping children entertained on these cold, rainy days and family walks didn’t seem to be quite so muddy…!!!!!
If, like me, you are running out of ways to keep your little ones busy, there are some links below to websites with helpful suggestions of things you can do at home. I have also attached a basic recipe that you might like to have a go at making with the children.
This week is also “Children’s Mental Health Week” and the theme this year is “Express Yourself”. There are ideas for ways to get involved if you follow the link below and I have also attached some resources that might be of help if you feel your children are struggling.
Remember that both Sharon and I are available to contact every day during the week if you need any help or support. I am in school Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Sharon is in school on a Tuesday or Thursday, but we will still be working from home on the other days.
